The Minecraft 3D Mural every Miner wants.

Minecraft is a computer game, allowing kids and adults to build, explore, play and survive in their own virtual world. It’s one of the most popular games in the world, with over 200 million copies sold, and there’s even a Minecraft movie in the making. Kids and adults love it, as the only real limits to what can be created lie in the imagination.

It’s fun, engaging and actually develops some great skills for Minecraft players, in areas such as problem-solving, geometry, and resource management.

My house is filled with everything Minecraft. From action figures, toys and books, to bedding and clothes. I always knew that kids would find something and it would be the craze but I never imagined it to be like this.  And then comes his 7^th birthday and I have no idea what to get him? He has it all!

And then he says he wants a Minecraft room.  Well, without going into detail my 7 year old still spends most of his night in my bed. (That’s a blog for another day).  While I don’t mind him with me as I truly believe that they are only small once, I thought why not give him what he wants.

WOW, have you seen the cost of wallpaper lately? And the copyright for some printers is a hurdle.  And so I found a mural artist to draw and paint on his wall.  It was going to be the perfect gift and ready just in time for his actual birthday.

And then I got the dreaded message the day before that she couldn’t make it.  Now one thing you’ll learn about me is that I panic. I moan to my husband who listens (even if he is isn’t listening), and then I make a plan and fix it. He once told me he doesn’t know why I panic because I can do anything I set my mind to and well… he is right. And I believe everything happens for a reason. I messaged many mural companies who were booked for months and then I messaged Angelique from Mural Nation. By pure luck or fate she was available and only starting a big job the next week so could help me over the following three days.

We were witness to this mural and how it came together.  I figured why let Sebastian see the end result.  I wanted him to witness the time and talent that went into it. Thank goodness I had the previous lady cancel.  Mural Nation were unbelievable.  We watched the projector, the outline, the drawing and then the paint.  At one point I thought they were done around day 2.  And then instead, the real talent showed and she went on to make it even better.

I know absolutely nothing about Minecraft.  I watch them playing and I listen to them watching reviews on You Tube.  But I do know that this Mural is a huge hit in this house.  My 4 year old is now begging for something in his room.  I know straight away who we will book.  And now we better not move for at least 10 years!
